The Pittsburgh-based band 156/Silence is at it again with their new single: "Better Written Villain". This new release might arguably be the best thing 156/Silence has ever released. Following similar vibes to "Unreasonable Doubt", which was released in April of this year, and sounding similar to Varials (hailing from Philadelphia so it must be something in that Pennsylvania water), the track is a certified banger from start to finish.

With eerie and terrifying tones that are only outmatched by the album art, the track has moments that make you want to throw down in the pit and moments that leave you singing along while your eyes swell with tears as waves of emotion wash over you. As I listened to the track over and over again nearly 20 times, the ending finally clicked in my bed and I found myself audibly making noises as I picked my jaw off the ground. Talk about a way to end a track! This is truly a testament to the band's ability to continue to grow with each release.

I obviously am not the only one who feels this way because after being out for less than a week, the track has already gained traction with nearly thirty thousand streams on Spotify and a music video that has been viewed over eighty thousand times. Speaking of the music video, what a cinematic journey. Everything about it was top-tier from start to finish. Right now the only thing that is leaving me angry about the band is more so directed at fans and promotors. How 156/Silence is not headlining tours for the majority of the year should be a crime that we desperately need to fix.

The new album, People Watching, is set to be released on September 13th of this year. Fans can pre-order the new album People Watching here.

156/Silence is also set to hit the road this August and September as they are slated as support on the Decade of Swarm Tour alongside Signs of the Swarm, Cane Hill, Ov Sulfer, & A Wake in Providence. Tickets can be found here.
