One of the prolific "stoner rock" bands of the 90s, 311 can still draw a crowd, selling out the House of Blue in Orlando in less than a day. They are one of those bands with so many hits that you have probably heard at least five of their biggest songs and not know it. Their stage presence is something to behold this many years later, offering quite the treat to longtime fans. They brought along Sitting On Saturn as 311 did a mini-tour on the way to their 311 Cruise.

Sitting On Saturn opened the night, performing an electric 45-minute set. It was easy to see why they are a rising band in the "surf rock" genre. Their energy was nonstop and they eased the crowd into a night to remember. My favorite song they performed was "Tokyo," but they also played their other hits like "F Nature" and "Baby Girl." Also joining 311 on their summer tour with Badflower, Sitting on Saturn showed the sold-out House of Blues crowd why they are a band to watch.

One of the pivotal bands in 90s rock, 311 has an incredibly diverse catalog. Even more impressive, with a setlist of over 20 songs, the energy never died for a second. From the beginning to the end of their performance, 311 had the crowd in the palm of their hands with their party-like atmosphere. Even though their dance moves may remind you of your dorky parents, there is a charm in their nostalgia-filled set. These rock veterans know how to have a good time on stage, and their fun was contagious.

311's setlist was filled with their greatest hits. I was overjoyed to see their massive single "Beautiful Disaster." Other hits they played included "Do You Right," "Come Original," and "Amber" before closing their set with "Down." The House of Blues is a more intimate venue than 311 is accustomed to, but even without their massive production, the crowd was packed in tight and so loud, it was a sight to behold. If 311 makes a stop in your city, go and enjoy the fun.
