ALEXSUCKS performed at The Social in Orlando as a part of their Dance Punch Cry US headling tour. As I walked up to the 400-capacity venue, I was taken aback by the line of people jumping up and down with giant smiles, ready to see their favorite band, ALEXSUCKS. They are accompanied on tour with friends, Rehash, a four-piece rock band from South Florida. Both bands have released insanely brilliant singles and have been known for authenticity and high-energy performances.

First was local favorite Rehash who started the set with “Hear Comes the Rain,” a song off their most recent album Mourning Star, which came out in July of 2024. Rehash is a band I had never heard of before seeing their name on this tour. I was not prepared for the concertgoers wearing their merch and singing along to every song. Rehash is a band that is completely now on my radar. A couple standing close to me exclaimed "I was hoping they’d play this one," as the group started “Lovers Blanket,” their most recent single that only dropped a couple of weeks ago! Lead singer Renzo Valdez took the time to thank ALEXSUCKS for taking them on this run. Renzo asked the crowd “Ya’ll doing alright? Yeah? Me too.” as the crowd cheered them on.

After Rehash’s performance, the crowd was properly hyped up and ready for ALEXSUCKS to take the stage. As the band walked up and took their places, the concertgoers screamed for Alex's attention, even one guy who kept saying “Alex is the goat!” (Greatest of all time). The band started the night off with their new single “Worm in the Sun,” which has almost half a million listens in just a month. Needless to say, it had everyone hooked! The next song played was “Fish Don’t Fly.” Before they started it, Alex asked “Let’s see if you guys remember this one.” By the crowd's energy, they knew it and were proudly singing along.

If you’ve never seen ALEXSUCKS live, you are sincerely missing out on his infectious dance moves, as well as their creative ability to masterfully create guitar and bass riffs that are stuck in your head long after the show, not to mention how intimate the performance feels. A funny moment during the performance was when a girl held up a sign that had the words “Play Situations Please” in which Alex said “We are definitely not playing that one tonight, I'm sorry to say but it is actually my least favorite song.” He jokingly played the bass line but kept it moving on to hits like “Talk to You,” “Warm Beers,” and “Hate Me if you Want.” “This is now the part where we walk off and you all scream one more song,” Alex said, and the crowd did exactly that. Alex then said, “Orlando, you are so cool that we are going to play two more” as they ended the set with the iconic songs “Six Pack and Cigarettes” and “What’re We Doing Here.”
