After an eight-year hiatus, Sahbabii made his long-awaited return to the stage at Webster Hall for the first night of his Resurrection Tour. The crowd was packed with long-time fans who knew the lyrics to every song, from his earliest release, "S.A.N.D.A.S.," to his latest release, "Saaheem." The energy was high, and the hype was definitely felt in the room. These weren’t casual listeners, but dedicated supporters who had followed him throughout his career.

The stage was an impressive replica of his childhood home, complete with squid tentacles coming from the windows as a nod to his nicknames. To further emphasize his roots, there was a street sign from his block on stage. There was so much attention to detail in every aspect of the show, from stage design to the set list, and every transition in between.

He created short interlude-type moments/skits to break up different songs and era transitions. It was apparent that Sahbabii really cared about grabbing the attention of the room through his storytelling. It wasn’t just a concert; it was a fully realized production where the focus was on delivering a thorough storyline experience of his journey to where he is now.

Sahbabii also brought out singer and producer T3, to perform their song “Boyfriend” and a few other tracks. They had great energy and I think the addition of bringing out a guest always brings an exciting energy and really added a special element to the show.

Overall, I think he did a really great job of tying together his old music with some of his newer tracks, making the set feel like one cohesive narrative of his life and journey. He’s not an artist who tours often, so the fact that he made sure to hit every era of his career and tie it into one, was something I very much admired about the show. You could tell there was a lot of passion and attention behind every aspect of the show and he was really focused on telling a well-rounded story of his life, and I think he was very successful in that.
