On June 13, 2024, I had the pleasure of chatting with Eicca Toppinen (Bandleader/Rhythm Cellist) of Apocalyptica. We spoke about the release of their newest album, Plays Metallica Vol. 2, their 2024-2025 touring plans, the group's writing processes, and more!

Apocalyptica is a symphonic/neoclassical metal band hailing from Helsinki, FI. Formed in 1993, the band have spent over three decades taking the metal/rock world by storm with their unique blend of metal and symphonic arrangements. Plays Metallica Vol. 2 is a sentimental release for the group, as it serves as a direct follow-up to their first studio album, Plays Metallica Vol. 1, which released in 1996, shooting the band to stardom.
