The Capitol Hill Block Party was the place to be on Friday during Chappell Roan's vibrant set. The 26-year-old pop star brought her Midwest Princess Tour to the sold-out festival and made it one of the most highly anticipated performances of the summer in Seattle.
Following the release of her latest album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, Chappell Roan has been touring for the past year, gaining immense popularity and reach with every stop. Her crowds have been noted as some of the most highly attended, with thousands upon thousands showing up to support the beloved pop star.
The Feminominon herself entered the stage with her band wearing a 90's grunge skater-inspired look, stating during her first track of the night that her ex was a skater boy, and she said "See you later, boy." They also opened the set by skateboarding across the stage. She went on to play some of her biggest hits like "Hot To Go" and "Red Wine Supernova", as well as a new song titled, "Subway". Roan rounded out the set with an electric performance of "Pink Pony Club", sung deafeningly loud by fans inside and outside the festival. The extensive mix of new and older tracks kept fans engaged and on their toes all night long.
As packed as the crowd might have been, the energy was still at an all-time high. A sea of pink, feathers, and glitter danced and sang with the Midwest Princess, and she made the sea of a crowd feel like more of an intimate show with her performance. Fans could be seen throughout the city well after the show was over, hopping on the Light Rail train in pink cowboy hats and short shorts. While this was one of her smaller shows of late, the trajectory of Chappell Roan's career and reach proves to only rise in the following years as she connects with fans all around the world.
