Where to begin when talking about a band like Conquer Divide? I have been listening to the band since their debut album, Conquer Divide, back in 2015. It is safe to say that this band took the music scene by storm 10 years ago and have been going strong ever since. It is not even up for discussion as the band has amassed over one hundred thousand followers across social media as well as over six hundred thousand monthly listeners on Spotify. After a brief hiatus, the band returned and has been pumping out bangers since 2020. With releases like “Chemicals,” a cover of “Bad Guy” and “Bad Habits,” incorporating the talents of Kellin Quinn on “Messy,” the incredible collaboration with Electric Callboy on “Fuckboi”, and 2023’s Slow Burn, Conquer Divide is not the band to put on the back burner. They are continuing this train of success with their newest single, “Bad Dreams,” which features Of Virtue. While it is only the first month of 2025, this track is an easy contender for single-of-the-year.

“Bad Dreams” is the type of track that has it all. The song has a level of heaviness that makes your body move but also has that almost-pop level of riffs and lyrics that make you want to sing along with a smile across your face. I am no singer by any means, but with each listen, I find myself singing along to the track. In typical metalhead fashion though, that build-up and breakdown around the 2 minute thirty second mark is nothing short of incredible. Not too short, not too long, but just the right amount of chaos as it transitions to a banger of an end for the track.

The band is slated to go on tour with Fearless Vampire Killers in support of New Years Day in just a few days as they bring the vibes to Europe and the UK. To say I am jealous of those fans getting the chance to potentially hear this new single live is an understatement and I will be impatiently for Conquer Divide to make their way to Texas.
