Dayglow kicked off their new tour for their fourth studio album titled Dayglow in Atlanta, GA in the iconic Tabernacle venue. The Tabernacle is a well known, historic venue that first was built as a church in 1911. The building was transformed into a music venue in 1996 for the Olympic Games. It is now the home to over 200 events per year and it is constantly ranked in the top music venues in the United States. It is a stunning three-storied indoor venue with large tubular bells behind the stage. Perfect venue for a wide range of artists and musicians. It is centered in the heart of Downtown Atlanta, GA making it a perfect location to explore the city.

To start the night off, a young indie rock / surf-rock band named Sun Room from Southern California brought the energy to the Tabernacle. The band consists of three friends who grew up playing music in their garage. They have since released three EP's and have played all across the country. Sun Room showed up in style and left with new fans. The buzzing energy of the guitar solos and crashing drums warmed up the crowd. This was my second time catching Sun Room live and they seem to have grown and nailed down their musical performance to a tee. Their happy, upbeat songs had the crowd jumping and dancing around, leaving everyone with excitement. They played all of their hit songs, including "Sunset Garage", "Clementine," "Crashed My Bike," and "Sol Del Sur." They mainly stuck to playing music and did not interact with the audience too much, but stated their gratitude for everyone coming out and early and gave a special thanks to Dayglow for having them on this tour.

Dayglow took the stage shortly after Sun Room. The stage lit up with flashing lights to illuminate their stage design and build excitement. The stage consisted of a giant start behind blocked letters that spelled out "DAYGLOW." The crowd chanted with energy and the band began to play "Junior Varsity". After the first three songs, Sloan Strubble, the lead vocalist and guitarist, stated how they were so excited to back in Atlanta on the first night of their new tour following their recent album release. Sloan even made a t-shirt that stated "Hot-Lanta" which refers to the iconic Atlanta slogan.

The band played through all the hits from their previous three albums as songs from the new album. The crowd was filled with energy and it seemed everyone was dancing along to the set. The lighting on this tour is stellar and enhances the experience from a fan perspective. A special call out moment from the show included the final song of the set and one of their biggest hits titled, "Can I Call You Tonight?" It seemed everyone knew the lyrics to this song based on how loud the crowd was. Sloan smiled the entire time this song played, feeling the love and gratitude for how many his music has connected with. The band shared many incredible moments with new and old fans on a special first night of tour.
