Duster kicked off their new tour in Atlanta, GA at the iconic Variety Playhouse venue following their 8th studio album Dreams. Opening the night, was a Lo-Fi/Indie band called Dirty Art Club. I could not make it to their set, but you can check out their music on all streaming platforms.

Duster has been around and releasing music since 1996. The band, originally from San Jose, California sounds like a mix of 90's soft grunge with a tint of psychedelic indie rock. After their second studio album titled, "Contemporary Movement", the band took a 20-year hiatus to re-group and record new music in their home studio. Fast forward to 2019 when the band released their third and fourth studio albums titled, "Capsule Losing Contact" and "Duster" respectively. These two albums have a total of 61 songs residing in them, so it's safe to say they were making plenty of music during their hiatus.

As Duster took the stage the lights came down and the crowd expressed their excitement. Despite the chill nature of Duster's music, there were several mosh pits where audience members politely moshed around in the pit. It was interesting to see people mosh to such slow-core music. The crowd seemed to headbang simultaneously to the beat of the drums. The band's stage design was very simple and classic. Consisting of just the three band members and their instruments. As expected the band played through all their hit songs, including "Constellations", "Inside Out", and "Orbitron".

This was my first time seeing Duster live after finding their music in 2023. I was initially attracted to this band by their melodic and almost hypnotizing rhythms. Their songs remind me of a peaceful daydream under the stars. Mesmerizing me with the dreamy lyrics that make me feel connected and aligned. Their songs are soothing and easy to listen to. I was impressed with their stage presence and their ability to remain so calm. The band did a great job performing despite some minor sound issues.

For the encore, they brought out the opener Dirty Art Club and played an unreleased song the two bands have been working on. The two played together so seamlessly and you could feel their energy radiating, totally consumed in their inner worlds while expressing their truest forms through the language of music. It was another beautiful night at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, GA. Thank you, Duster for starting the tour in Atlanta.
