A lot of people will say that metal is just angry music and people screaming. Well ... I think Ender from New Jersey is a perfect example of that and so much more. And guess what, I'd bet money that they are going to be one of the most talked about bands of 2024.
About a month ago, Ender released the single "Here to Stay" and I've played it at least once every day since. The song effortlessly blends metalcore and hardcore, and they throw a sprinkle of deathcore and slamcore (I know that's not a genre but it sure should be). I often hear that the genre is growing stale and many bands are starting to sound alike, but Ender has that "thing" that makes them stand out in a sea of bands. With vocals that sound like they were stripped straight from a demon, some amazing and nonstop riffs that make you headbang until your neck snaps, and drumming that shocks you to your core, I'd be amazed if this band doesn't blow up this year. Yeah, I said it twice. But, you can't prove me wrong. "Here to Stay" sounds like one 3 minute and 45 second breakdown, and I'll be amazed if a venue is left standing when this song is played live. While listening to the song, I found myself saying "oh damn" and making faces as if my life depended on it. If you're a fan of Architects and the iconic "Blegh", you are going to lose every shred of sanity when Ender hits you with a downtuned, straight up filthy "BLEGH". The band sounds like some of my favorites like Reflections, Emmure, and Alpha Wolf, and I'm absolutely here for it. This is that type of music that you put on at the gym when you want to bench-press all the weight.
If you don't believe me, well you're entitled to your opinion. But, give the song a listen (music video linked below) and tell us what you think! And be sure to give the band a follow on all socials to stay up to date on what they have going on: Ender Socials
