I didn't think it would be possible for Enterprise Earth to beat 2024's Death: An Anthology. The album had every aspect of a deathcore classic. But to be overtaken by something new, let alone beat it out with a single like "I. The Descent", oh my Lord. This single has everything I've been needing in a music release and more. I have listened to this single at least several dozen times today. Enterprise Earth needs to stop releasing music in January because it is going to be next to impossible for any band to come close to their musical master-class.
The track contains all the components of a deathcore classic: riffs, breakdowns, blast beats, disgusting vocals, and the vibes of immediate despair. "I. The Descent" starts off with a barrage of riffs, chugs, and blast beats that leave listeners with the hair on the back of their necks standing up. As the vocals continue to abuse listeners' ears with the makings of a demonic call, fans can't help but head bang their way to the emergency room. Eventually the track breaks down into a call to Satan himself as the the crunchiest breakdown and mosh call comes to grace the listener.
If this single is any indication as to the direction of the band, I am beyond happy. I believe this is the first new music release featuring new drummer, Aron Hetsko, and while he has huge shoes to fill, Hetsko is absolutely killing it. Without sounding biased, every other band should give up on releasing new music until 2026 because I doubt it will come close to the jaw-dropping ability of Enterprise Earth. The band is slated to hit Europe and the UK starting January 30th alongside Distant with support from The Last Ten Seconds of Life and Harbinger. Tickets for the tour can be found here.
