Making waves in the deathcore and heavy music scene since their inception back in 2008, Fit For An Autopsy has never been afraid to bring the heavy and have never shied away from harsh topics in their music. Their recent releases, The Sea of Tragic Beasts & Oh What the Future Holds, have been an expression of their best work with singles like Warfare,” “Shepherd,” “Conditional Healing,” & “A Higher Level of Hate.” Not to forget their incredible split EPs, The Depression Sessions & The Aggression Sessions, Fit For An Autopsy have consistently raised the bar with each release. The band is gearing up to release their sixth full length, The Nothing That Is, and I know I am beyond excited for it. The band must know that fans need a taste as they have released a single from the upcoming album, “Lower Purpose,” and what a single it is.

The track immediately bombards listeners with the powerful vocals of Joe Badolato. As guitarists Will Putney, Pat Sheridan, & Tim Howley bring the heavy riffs, Josean Orta delivers the best drumming of the year. Lest we forget bassist Peter “Blue” Spinazola who continues to bring the chugs and the heavy. Fit For An Autopsy’s ability to write music that embodies the deathcore core components while maintaining an era of freshness is truly a testament to their mastery of the genre. Each of the released singles, “Lower Purpose,” “Savior of None/Ashes Of All,” and “Hostage” all have that special deathcore spice, but each track could stand the test of time as a stand-alone-single. Circling back to “Lower Purpose,” there is one thing that makes this track contender for release-of-the-year: that breakdown. Talk about a build up to an insanity level breakdown. If fans have the chance to hear this live and they do not go as hard as possible, I would be disappointed. Speaking of catching this live experience, fans have the opportunity to do so very soon. Fans in the US have the opportunity to catch Fit For An Autopsy, alongside Bodysnatcher, Distant, Sylosis, and Judiciary, starting October 18th and fans in the EU/UK can catch Fit For An Autopsy, alongside Sylosis, Darkest Hour, and Heriot, starting November 22nd.
