Indie rock band Houndmouth sold out their Saturday night show in Charleston, South Carolina weeks before the event, and not a single ticket could be found for resale online! The fans are dedicated and loyal and it was proven on this latest tour with the majority of dates completely sold out... and by the crowd begging for tickets outside Charleston Music Hall

It’s been 13 years since the band was signed to a major label, after their incredible SXSW 2012 show, and many changes have happened with their lineup and sound, and I wouldn’t say it’s a bad thing! Matt Myers (guitar, vocals), lead vocalist and co-founder, is currently jamming with Caleb Hickman (keyboard, vocals) and Zac Anderson (bass, vocals). The trio has cycled through a few drummers, but I think they’ve got something good going on with their current band. They sounded cohesive and strong, and if you closed your eyes there was no difference from the original lineup. Some, in the industry, say it was a brave decision for Matt to continue on and carry the band’s name, but I agree with his decision, and I’d say the fans were ecstatic.

The guys haven’t released a new album in about 4 years, but they didn’t skip a beat, nor did a thousand supportive (and screaming) fans! The vibes were electrifying, and the crowd had a great energy about them. When the band shut it down with their top single and Billboard-charting, “Sedona” there wasn’t a single person sitting down in the packed theater. Watching everyone, young and old, sing every word has to be the most rewarding feeling for the band!

Also worth mentioning was the strong supporting act, Harf! I’ll definitely be adding them to my playlist! Kyle, Adam, and Will of Connecticut make up the band and definitely set the tone for the night. They had quite a few fans in the crowd- Kyle even recognized someone (and his mom)! I love crowd interaction and there were lots of homemade signs and cries of support for the opener. Will Harford, the group’s founder, is on his first tour and playing a few dates with Houndmouth so be sure to give them a listen! You’ll enjoy his music if you are a fan of folk with hints of pop and country, and they are currently boasting 230,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
