Bad habits can be hard to break—especially if you’re not trying very hard to break them. In Her Own Words (commonly abbreviated as IHOW) recently released their new single titled “Beg For More,” a pop-punk song about a frustrating relationship that you just can’t stay away from.

After an album release and a few tours in 2022 and 2023 with Set It Off, Scene Queen, and more, In Her Own Words are picking up where they left off. The duo of Joey Fleming (vocals) and Andretti Almalel (guitar) started teasing the song on social media in early June with videos of them performing snippets of the song (as well as taking part in a couple of memes). One part of the snippets that stood out the most was the euphoric guitar riff: Once you hear it, you won’t forget it.

“Beg For More” is classic late 2000’s pop-punk and an almost three-minute nostalgia-fueled serotonin boost, a big contrast from the meaning of the lyrics. The narrator in the song keeps giving in to the temptation of the other person in the relationship, despite it always ending badly. Fleming and Almalel had help with the creation of the song from music industry veterans such as Daniel Rubin, Cameron Mizell, Andrew Baylis, and Cameron Walker.

Fans can’t get enough of the song, with many commenting on the band’s Instagram that they have been listening to it over and over again. Luckily, fans will have more music to listen to as Fleming also confirmed in the comments that a new album is on its way. Their label, Thriller Records, says that there are also plans for “an elevated live show” in the works.
