Yes. You read that title right. Your new favorite band is here and hails from lovely North Carolina. With a sound that words just cannot describe, but this writer will try his best, Impulse Machine has a sound that is made for the horror and thriller genre or a sound that is perfect for video game soundtracks. Their newest single, "Roadkill Shuffle," is another perfect example of that unique sound.

That uniqueness is something that is making this review so difficult. I've been listening to music for years and have written countless reviews for bands across genres, but I don't think I've ever heard something like this before. Sounding like the chaotic lovechild of non-Burton Danny Elfman, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Nine Inch Nails, and a George A. Romero zombie film set in the universe of 28 Days Later, this is a band that is sure to stand out amongst the crowd because of they are in a league of their own.

"Roadkill Shuffle" is no different to that Impulse Machine sound. It immediately sounds like the type of song to have in the opening credits of a Rob Zombie film and it is a vibe from start to finish. From some dirty vocals with a haunting set of backing vocals to eerie guitar and bass work to drumming that will leave you craving more, this track is nothing short of a masterpiece. Each listen has you noticing something new and different while appreciating the artistic mastery more and more. I think I've played it about half a dozen times and each listen has me noticing something that leaves my jaw agape while thinking "Oh shit!"

While listening to "Roadkill Shuffle" and the rest of the Impulse Machine discography, there is one thing that will leave you puzzled, lost, and just downright confused. That question is what festival or tour can we get Impulse Machine on and are we ready for them to become the next big international act? Well, the answer to the second part is an obvious yes.

Impulse Machine is:

Connor Tomlinson - vocals

Zac Strum - bass

Jordan Serve - drums

Ethan Bowen & Matt Stretz - guitars
