Tobe Nwigwe spent the last night of his Home is Where The Hood Is back in his own hood, Houston, TX. 713 Music Hall saw an influx of fans lining up before doors this past Saturday, April 5th. Many in attendance had been fans for many years, reminiscing about his Sunday song videos he would put out weekly back in the day.

Home Is Where The Hood Is Tour began in Italy, then went to London, Paris and Amsterdam. North American stops included New Orleans, Los Angeles, Orlando, Toronto, Brooklyn, and Detroit, and others before the final stop in Houston on Saturday, concluding the multi-date tour.

To begin the evening, another Texan and Houstonian, David Michael Wyatt took the stage. A hush fell over the venue as he entranced the audience with his voice. Singing songs from his new EP, Velvet Covers, I particularly loved his version of OutKast's "Hey Ya". His smooth sounding voice truly can be described as velvet.

After a brief break in between sets, the stage curtain drew back and a swirl of dancers came into view. The set included a raised stage with a row of singers performing in front of a screened stage, made to appear as if they were performing in front of an apartment building. Tobe Nwigwe came out to cheers from the audience. Tobe tours with his family and his wife, Martica Ivory "Fat" Nwigwe, who also gave a stunning and lively performance. Their five children; Ivory, Sage, Chukwueze, Chikodili, and Jachike also graced the stage, a few of them charming the audience with adorable acts of their own. The set list included "Fye Fye", "Hydration", "Try Jesus", and many others that caused the audience to be in a continual state of cheering. At one point, Nwigwe came out into the audience and cell phones were out and snapping pics. Tobe also thrilled the crowd when he mentioned MC Hammer being a major influence on him, and dance moves happened! So many happy faces and such great music made for a great homecoming! Welcome home, Nwigwe Family!
