On Thursday night, Toronto was in for a night of beautiful music from two very talented artists. The Drake Underground is an ideal venue for fans as it’s an intimate space with a maximum capacity of 150 people. I’ve been to this venue several times, but I’ve never seen the venue fill up so fast. Fans were holding their spot in the pit with their coats, wanting to be right up to the stage. You could hear fans raving about how good the night was going to be while holding a handmade poster or a Jordana vinyl.
Supporting Jordana throughout the tour, Rachel Bobbitt, a rising indie rock singer-songwriter, came to the stage. She told the crowd how incredible it’s been touring around North America with Jordana, and that this is her hometown show! Bobbitt is currently based in Toronto, ON, so I’m sure she had many friends and familiar faces in the crowd making this show extra special. Bobbitt opened the set with her 2022 single “More” which then led into new music from her upcoming album, out in a couple months! Keep up with Bobbitt on her Instagram.

The crowd got progressively louder as the anticipation for Jordana’s performance grew and grew. Jordana’s music spans a good range of genres, from bedroom pop to a beautiful blend of indie pop and folk. She is most known for her collaborative EP with TV Girl, Summer’s Over, released in 2021. Jordana made sure to play a couple songs off that EP for the fans, but most of the setlist was the entirety of her newest album, Lively Premonition.

Jordana was very sweet, making jokes and interacting with fans between each song. She made the crowd laugh with silly stories and even demonstrated her talent of armpit farting, claiming she’s really good at it (and she was). Jordana was so vibrant throughout the whole set as she sang and switched between playing the violin and tambourine. A highlight of the show was her cover of “Any Major Dude Will Tell You” by Steely Dan. The night ended with her performing her biggest hit yet, “Better in the Dark,” a record that has surpassed 180 million streams on Spotify.
