No better way to break in the school year than with a stop in Loserville. Well, actually, Loserville came to Dallas, TX, at the Dos Equis Pavilion, and what a crazy stop it was as Limp Bizkit helped Dallas have the time of their lives. Accompanied by Bones with Eddy Baker & Xavier Wulf, N8NOFACE, & Corey Feldman, and sprinkle in a few appearances by Jody Highroller AKA the NEON iCON AKA the Peach Panther AKA Aquaberry Backfist AKA RIFF RAFF, and Dallas was truly given the show of a lifetime.
Starting the night off with a bang as the sun set across the Dos Equis Pavilion was Corey Feldman. A popular film star back in the 1980s and an even bigger rockstar. What an incredible way to get the show going as Feldman danced, jumped, and went insane across the stage while doing a costume change after each song! I had no idea what to expect as he took the stage, but, oh my goodness, I'm still talking about it. I might need to get a ticket to another date of the tour just for Feldman's set alone.
Taking the stage next was N8NOFACE. I had no idea what to expect as the curtains were drawn back and all I saw was one person. But, oh my God, N8NOFACE has got to get on some hardcore bills as soon as possible! Between the vocals, stage presence, faces, and everything in between, my man belongs on a hardcore stage! It was absolutely incredible to see one person take control of a sea of people with such confidence and in a way that I've never seen before!
As Bones took the stage next, I'm pretty sure I heard some people scream so loud they were louder than the PA system at the venue. It was incredible to see a sea of people on their feet, screaming the lyrics back, and just having an all-around great time. It honestly reminded me of the rap stage at So What?!'s return a couple years ago. I don't think I've seen people have as much fun as they did during this set.
After much sweating in the Texas sun, after much waiting in that summer heat, and after hydrating on beer, it was finally time. Finally, time for LIMP FUCKING BIZKIT. I don't care what anyone says: Limp Bizkit has always been and will always be one of the best to ever do it! I still remember the first time I saw that iconic backwards red hat, heard that tasty intro riff, and heard that iconic phrase, "Alright, partner. Keep on rollin', baby. You know what time it is." You've got to be lying to the world if you can't say that the first time you heard "Rollin (Urban Assault Vehicle)" from Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water, your life didn't change forever. Come on. That intro riff to "Break Stuff"?! Can you name anything more amazing?! Limp Bizkit is that band and will always be THAT band!
As they took the stage in Dallas, TX, they were greeted by a deafening roar from the crowd. The absolute legends John Otto on drums, DJ Lethal on turntables, Sam Rivers on bass, Wes Borland on guitar, & Fred Durst on vocals took Dallas for a crazy ride. It was absolutely insane to look out at the mass of people screaming the lyrics and then look at my fellow photographers and the venue staff, who were all also singing along. Can you imagine anything better?
I left Loserville a sweaty mess and I am already dying to return.
