Live music will never cease to amaze me. From bands that are masters of their craft to bands that have a gimmick while playing live, the variety is there like that Coca-Cola machine that has all those different flavors for the drinks (c'mon, you know the one). And that brings me to talk about THIS band, but where to begin when describing the almighty Mac Sabbath? There are no cheesy gimmicks with this band. The world’s first and finest Drive Thru Metal band, Mac Sabbath has quite the lineup. The vocals are handled by Ronald Osbourne, and he is accompanied by his band of Monsanto Mutants: Slayer MacCheeze on guitar, Grimalice on bass, & the Catburglar on drums. I’ve never had the luxury of catching the super-sized rockstars in Mac Sabbath live until this past Saturday at Trees in Dallas, TX as they closed out their 10 Year Anniversary Tour and what an experience this was. Obviously, I was late to the party because Mac Sabbath played to a packed crowd on this lovely Saturday night of some die-hard fans. There were so many people in costume and ready for what the night had in store.

As the curtains drew back and the band took the stage, the crowd exploded into a roar of applause and cheers. One would think that the crowd opened up their drive-thru bag and found that extra fry at the bottom. While the band is shrouded in mystery like Sleep Token, it only adds to the enjoyment of seeing them perform. The band may seem like something outrageous or as a joke, but they’re as serious of musicians that I’ve ever seen. Plus, they're a great watch. I’m sorry, you tell me you wouldn’t find enjoyment watching Ronald Osbourne slay chickens while drinking a beer through a giant straw and squirting water on fans in the crowd. I saw every type of fan in attendance, young and old, as well as venue staff having the time of their life as Mac Sabbath performed burger after burg...oh, I mean banger after banger!

The entire experience left me wanting more. Mac Sabbath's performance truly reminded me about just how great the metal genre is and how much fun this genre can be. I for one am already impatiently waiting for the return of these heavy metal legends in the making.
