Milk, Cookies, and Metalcore with MattPlaylists

Guess who's back again for another installment of "Milk & Cookies and Metalcore with Matt". It's me... Matt. Ya know... the guy from the title... Anyway! Let us get to it! We've had a ton of huge releases lately and a ton of new and heavy music to get us through the week. Here are some of my favorites:

blessthefall - "DRAG ME UNDER (ft. Alpha Wolf)"

The metalcore gods blessthefall are back with a super heavy track featuring the almighty Alpha Wolf. "DRAG ME UNDER" feels like the love child of Hollow Bodies & To Those Left Behind. An absolute stunning blend of those catchy choruses and nonstop riffs and breakdowns. The blend of Beau Bokan, Jared Warth, & Lochie Keogh on this song have me keeping this song on repeat all day! I'm already impatiently waiting for blessthefall to return to Texas so I can maybe hear this song live.

Backbite - "Following the Shadows (ft. No Face No Case)"

I absolutely adore No Face No Case. The Czech beatdown boys are exactly what the music scene needs, and their feature on this Backbite track is nothing short of amazing. This track has it all: angry vocals, beatdown breakdowns, and the feeling like you're going to get your shit rocked in the pit. This is the type of track to help you reach those new PR goals at the gym. No doubt about it.

Pintglass - "Site Mentality (ft. Paleface Swiss)"

Once this song starts, there is no turning back. Pintglass brings the heavy and utter chaos. I can easily see this being played at a festival with a huge circle pit as a never-ending dust storm takes over the grounds. Plus, a feature from the ever-amazing Paleface Swiss?! Paleface Swiss has been on the rise ever since I found them, and it is all due to their amazing work ethic and musical talent. What an absolutely stellar track. I need to hear it live and experience it in all its glory because I'm sure it is going to be an experience of a lifetime.

Vacant Voice - "Swarm Of Flies (ft. Crystal Lake)"

This release is just a smidge older than some of the other tracks on this article but, to be honest, I wanted to gatekeep it for a bit. Vacant Voice & Crystal Lake. What an absolutely stunning combination! Right away, "Swarm Of Flies" sucker punches you right in the face and continues to beat you down until you're left as a bloody pulp on the ground. This is the type of song that will leave you needing a trip to the ER because of how hard you went in the mosh pit. I need an entire collab album from these 2 bands now, though. Who do I have to contact about getting that started?

The Amity Affliction - "My Father's Son - Redux"

Probably my favorite new release of the year. The Amity Affliction is rerecording, arguably, their most vital and successful album of their career: Let the Ocean Take Me. When "My Father's Son - Redux" came through my headphones, I initially thought, "Oh, I'm sure this will be some EDM remix or acoustic version or something." But, oh my gosh, how wrong I was! The band has breathed a whole new life into this song, and I was nearly brought to tears upon my first listen. I, and I cannot stress this enough, CANNOT wait for the full album to be released. It will be the only thing I listen to for the rest of forever.

Brojob - "BUSSY SMASHER"

Do I really need to even say anything about Brojob? Deathcore may be dead, but Brojob is forever. I cannot even begin to imagine how much fun it would be to hear this track live. From blast beats to that crunchy "you're going to die" riffage to demonic guttural vocals to a feeling of visiting Hell itself. This is the type of track that I would be blasting on my Skullcandy headphones on the way to first period in high school.
