Things Are Different Now is an accurate title for Rain City Drive’s upcoming album, as the quintet has already completed their third full-length album (including To Better Days) in just the three years they’ve officially been known as RCD. The band has gone through a lot of changes in a short period of time, such as an experimental phase with their sound, as well as changes to the name of the band. In 2022, they decided how they wanted to be known by the world with the release of their self-titled album, Rain City Drive. Millions of streams later and a feature on SiriusXM Octane’s Big Uns, RCD is ready to unveil this new collection of 11 songs, one of which is their most recent single, “Over Me.”

“Over Me” is a little more on the pop side, whereas their previous singles for this album were mainly post-hardcore. But this does not affect the quality of the song in any way, as it is still on the same level as the other three singles. Lead singer Matt McAndrew’s voice is smooth, especially in the intro and during the high note after the bridge. Props also have to be given to Felipe Sanchez (guitar), Weston Richmond (guitar), Colin Vieira (bass), and Zack Baker (drums), who created an energetic and captivating backdrop for the song. According to McAndrew, “Over Me is about finding out that someone you were dating has moved on. Even when you know the relationship has ended, there’s still the shock of seeing them with someone new and realizing the past is dead and buried.”
