Hundreds of fans flooded the halls of the Dallas House of Blues last Friday evening, as Nessa Barrett brought her AFTERCARE tour to Texas. The sold-out show was packed to the brim with fans eagerly awaiting the pop star’s performance, along with an opening performance by Ari Abdul.
Ari started the night off on a high note as she and her guitarist stepped out onto the stage, opening with her song “Girls On The Internet.” The musician performed her set with grace and style, leaving the many fans smiling ear to ear. During one song, the singer crouched down by the edge of the stage, and a fan in the front row handed her a black cowboy hat that Ari wore throughout the rest of her set. When the time came for the singer to perform her most famous song, “BABYDOLL,” the crowd erupted into cheers, singing along with the musician word for word. Ari’s performance captivated the audience, and I highly doubt there was a single person who walked out of that venue without being an Ari Abdul fan.

At 9pm sharp, the house lights went down, and the opening notes of “S.L.U.T.” began coursing through the venue. As soon as Nessa stepped out on the stage, the fans went absolutely wild, singing along with every lyric and dancing behind the barricade. The stage production was also a sight to behold, with a massive LED screen displaying unique visualizers during each song, accompanied by a beautiful lighting display. The whole show was quite a spectacle.
Throughout the show’s runtime, Nessa performed hits such as “LOVE LOOKS PRETTY ON YOU,” “BABYDOLL,” and “MUSTANG BABY,” along with a handful of fan-favorite deep cuts from some of her older releases. After performing the incredibly popular “PORNSTAR,” Nessa surprised fans with an additional three-song encore, wrapping everything up with the tour’s namesake “AFTERCARE.” Fans screamed at the top of their lungs as the musician took her final bow, and the energy in the room was electric during the last few moments of the show.

Fortunately for fans, Nessa Barrett’s AFTERCARE tour will continue on in the US through mid-March and, soon after that, will go across the globe to Latin America before ending in Europe.
