On April 26, 2017, NF played at the Bourbon Theater in Lincoln, Nebraska during his Therapy Sessions Tour. And then, this July 16, 2023, NF played the Pinnacle Bank Arena during his HOPE Tour, just 1.5 miles down the road from the Bourbon Theater. Nearly selling out Pinnacle Bank Arena, the stands were packed with excited fans, from kids to adults. Chants started 30 minutes before NF’s set, the crowd repeating the artist's name while waving and flashing the lights on their phones. You could feel the excitement and energy throughout the arena leading up to the NF’s appearance.
NF is well known for being a brutally honest and unfiltered artist, speaking on his history with depression, loss, anger, trauma, and religion. From the Bourbon Theater in 2017 to Pinnacle Bank Arena in 2023, one thing that has never wavered is the connection you feel between his fans and his music. As the set began, you could feel the crowd yelling every line, as if the lyrics were giving them words they otherwise could not find.
NF’s presence was intense, constantly moving around the stage, interacting with the crowd, and bringing the lyrics to life. There is something special about NF’s performance. His music can be dark and intense when talking about his past. This intensity isn't just something you hear in his voice, you can feel it in his body language, movements, and expressions. NF wears his emotions on his sleeve as he performs, and the sense of vulnerability and strength makes his presence unwavering.
NF is currently on the HOPE Tour, with opening act Cordae, who recently featured on NF’s new album HOPE to create the song “Careful.” During the song, NF brought Cordae out from backstage to perform their collaboration, the third song on NF’s setlist. The setlist mainly consists of songs off of HOPE, but also features songs from previous albums and mixtapes.
