Norma Jean brings their DeathRattle tour to Greensboro NC

BY BETHANY BRANDYS

You could feel the excitement in the air as the line at Hangar 1819 in Greensboro NC grew longer and longer as people waited for doors to open. The DeathRattle Tour brings Norma Jean, Fire From the Gods, and Greyhaven, and the energy from the fans was off the charts!

Greyhaven

The show kicked off with Greyhaven, which is a progressive post-hardcore group from Louisville, Kentucky. The band consists of Brent Mills (vocals), Nick Spencer (guitar), Johnny Muench (bass), and Ethan Spray (drums) who was unable to make this tour, so Evan Redmon is filling in on drums.

These guys started the show with intense, high volume energy that had the crowd going crazy and kicking off the moshpits from the first song. I enjoyed rocking out to them as it was my first time seeing them. And I was definitely not alone in the enjoyment they brought to the crowd. You can follow them on Instagram here

Fire From the Gods

Fire From the Gods was up next! They are an American rap-metal band from Austin, Texas. The band consists of AJ Channer (vocals), Bonner Baker (bass), Drew Walker (guitar), and Richard Wicander (drums).

This was my second time seeing Fire From the Gods and first time covering them, and the energy these guys bring to the stage is unmatched! From start to finish the crowd was loud as can be for them! Between the moshpits and the crowd surfing there was not a single person not enjoying themselves. There are just a handful of dates left on The DeathRattle Tour so make sure you catch them while you can, and go follow them over on Instagram!

Norma Jean

Rounding out the line-up of this incredible night was Norma Jean. Norma Jean is a metalcore band from Douglasville, Georgia. There have been a number of changes in the line up over the years, but the band currently consists of Cory Brandan (vocals), Matt Marquez (drums), Clay Crenshaw (bass), Michael Palmquist (guitar), and Grayson Stewart (guitar).

If you thought the crowd was energized before, it was nothing compared to the energy they had when Norma Jean took the stage. Kicking it off with their hit “1994”, the crowd was explosive with passion for the band. There was not a single second of this show where there was not a moshpit or crowd surfer to not be seen. Norma Jean not only fueled the energy but also fed off the vibrancy of the intense crowd and, together, it was a show that cannot be forgotten. Make sure you get to one of the last remaining dates so you do not miss out on the opportunity to see this amazing show! Also make sure you go over to Instagram and give Norma Jean a follow!
