It is hard to think of deathcore without immediately thinking of several bands that hold that torch high. One band in particular stands out among the crowd with a history of nearly 20 years in the making: Oceano. After waiting what seemed like forever, fans are getting new music from the band as they get ready to release their newest album, Living Chaos. They have already had much success with the release of "Mass Produced" & "Wounds Never Healed," and now Oceano has released their newest single: "The Price of Pain."

Straight out of the gates, this is a heavy single and a true testament to the musical ability of the band. From ear-splitting vocals to bone shaking blast beats to an almost prog-like amount of riffage, "The Price of Pain" is a certified banger from start to finish. Clocking in at nearly 4 minutes, I can only imagine the chaos that would occur when the band plays the song live. With lyrics like "Your life's the only price you had to pay" and "As the planet degrades you'll endure such torment," this track is really feeling like an old-school deathcore track. It had me sitting at my desk making the stankiest of faces as I listened to these demonic vocals, and spinning around in my own personal circle pit as the chunkiest riffs blasted across my apartment.

When speaking about "The Price of Pain", vocalist Adam Warren has this to say:

'The Price of Pain' unravels a story of inner turmoil, suffering, and sacrifice. Enjoy the song, dig into the lyrics, and witness the rest of the story unfold when our new music video releases! I can’t wait for you all to see it!

If "The Price of Pain" and the other 2 previous singles are any indication as to what Living Chaos is going to sound like, I for one am beyond excited. While we have to wait for the album release on the 30th of August, I'm going to go ahead and say it now: Living Chaos is sure to be a top contender for album of the year. If you want to pre-order the album or get some Oceano merch, be sure to stop by the Sumerian Records site to do so.

Be sure to catch Oceano as they hit the road on The Living Chaos Tour alongside To the Grave, VCTMS, & Half Me. Tickets available here.
