BBC Introducing
The BBC Introducing stage is never one to be missed. Huge bands and artists have played on this stage before they hit the big time, such as: Ed Sheeran, Bombay Bicycle Club, Loyle Carner and Royal Blood. Just think, you could be seeing the headlining acts of years to come on a tiny stage in an intimate setting.
Carsick - Friday 12:00 - 12:40pm
Make sure you get down early to catch this set as they open the BBC Introducing Stage for the whole weekend. If you like loud punk music with indie and electronic elements, this is the band for you. Expect crowd surfing, mosh pits and high energy.
Welly - Saturday 12:55 - 1:25pm
I have had the pleasure of seeing Welly a few times over the past few years, and I can safely say that they are one of my favourite live bands at the moment. Dressed head-to-toe in a classic UK primary school PE kit (think pumps, white t-shirts and PE bibs), each witty tune plays on British experiences we’ve all had. Their music reminds me of Pulp and Madness.
Cameron Hayes - Sunday 12:55 - 1:25pm
Cameron Hayes has made waves over the past few years. Writing alongside and featuring on huge drum and bass tracks with Dimension and Sub Focus. Her haunting vocals and lyrics work well with her bassy guitar sound - often teetering on the edge of grunge and rock. This is an artist that has the potential to be huge in years to come.
Delilah Bon - Sunday 8:15 - 8:45pm
I have been wanting to see Delilah Bon for so long! Having missed her set at another festival, I can’t wait to see her at Reading this year. A British punk, rap, hip-hop artist and producer, she uses music and her platform to speak out about sexual harassment within the music industry. Her live performances have wowed audiences all over the world as she secured a supporting slot with Scene Queen on their US and UK tour.
Festival Republic Stage
I could honestly name every single act on the lineup for this stage (particularly for Friday). If you are into hardcore, metal or punk music, this is the place for you!
Lambrini Girls - Friday 2:50 - 3:30pm
Brighton duo, Lambrini Girls, have a huge reputation in the live music scene. Stories of their on-stage, chaotic antics and thought-provoking punk music and audience interaction have made them a band that you really don’t want to miss.
Viagra Boys - Saturday 9:15 - 10pm
Currently one of the best live punk bands around. They have a wonderful blend of comedy while also being incredibly talented musicians. Front man, Sebastian Murphy, has a brilliant stage presence and I know their headlining slot on this stage will be one you’ll always remember.
Rachel Chinouriri - Sunday 8pm - 8:40pm
The English singer-songwriter is one of the most exciting artists around and is certainly on the rise. Her feel-good tracks and effortless vocals blend together beautifully. Having recently released her third studio album, ‘My Everything’, I am hopeful that many of these tracks will make an appearance during her set and bring those summery vibes.
Radio 1 Stage
This is where we start to see some of the bigger names of today. Many of these acts are played regularly on national radio stations and are on their way up to (hopefully) playing that main stage in the next few years.
Chinchilla - Friday 1:40 - 2:10pm
Chinchilla is an independent artist who is a force to be reckoned with. The London based singer is in full control of everything she puts out, so you know that everything you see and hear is her authentic self.
The Wombats - Saturday 10:25 - 11:15pm
This is a band I grew up with and I cannot wait to see them live! The Liverpool band formed over 15 years ago and they are experts at live performances. While they have some nostalgic tunes from the past, they are also still bringing out incredible music, with their latest studio album topping the UK album chart.
Ashnikko - Sunday 7:35 - 8:20pm
Ashnikko’s live shows are theatrical, camp and fabulous. From the brat rap of early singles like “Halloweenie” and “STUPID (ft. Yung Baby Tate)” to the lurid alt-pop of viral hits “Daisy” and “Slumber Party (ft. Princess Nokia)”, an ever-evolving sound anchored by a cheeky humour that couldn’t belong to anyone else. With a huge fanbase, I know this is going to be a popular set, so head down early!
Main Stage
The Main Stage showcases an eclectic mix of different genres, meaning that there are bands and artists for almost everyone. With headlining acts, Blink-182, Fred Again… and Liam Ghallager, there’s also a combination of newer and older music.
The Ks - Friday 2:45 - 3:30pm
Although The Ks are one of the newer bands on the UK Indie music scene, they are fast becoming one of the most highly regarded bands of this time. With high energy performances and catchy singles, they have already found themselves headlining smaller festivals and selling out tours.
The Last Dinner Party - Saturday 2:55 - 3:30pm
The London based band were only formed in 2021 but have already been making waves in the alt-rock scene. Having won the ‘Rising Star’ category and already being on tour with some of the biggest artists of today, such as Hozier and Florence and the Machine, I can’t wait to see what this band achieves moving forward.
Crawlers - Sunday 2:00 - 2:30pm
The Liverpool band, Crawlers, are another name that I have been hearing all over social media after their track “Come Over (Again)” went viral on TikTok. Since then, they have played festivals all over the UK, supported My Chemical Romance, sold out an intimate in-store tour and had their debut album reach no. 3 on the UK album chart. Having seen this band multiple times, I know they are going to be a hit on the main stage and I can’t wait to see how many new fans they acquire after their sets at Reading and Leeds this year.
Overall, this is an incredible line-up of many different genres. There’s someone there for every punter going to this year's festival.
See the poster below for the full line up.
