Set // Adrift, easily one of the best bands to emerge from the Dallas - Fort Worth area, is ready to close out 2024 with one more single: "Regret". The band is truly on its way to becoming the next big national touring act as they channel influence from Being As An Ocean, Counterparts, & Casey, and combine it with their own signature flair of post-hardcore, metalcore, emotional sound. If you're a fan of Water Culture, Set // Adrift is sure to be the band for you.

The band has released four singles this year, "Rot", "Wake", "Absence", and "Monument". Each release was better than the previous, so I am optimistic for "Regret". "Regret" immediately captivates listeners as it explodes into a barrage of guitars, drums, and vocals that takes the listener by the collar and refuses to let go. This review is going to be so difficult for me because I adore the band and can go on for hours about how great the song is, but I don't want to rob fans of the first-listen experience. So, let me just say that as the track continues, the instrumentals continue to take hold as you enter an emotional journey that leaves you with your jaw on the ground and tears in your eyes. This song has all the components of a Set // Adrift track while having an era of freshness that is sure to catapult the band to new heights. While the entire 3 minutes and 29 seconds of "Regret" is amazing from start to finish, this band reminds fans that they are not to be messed with, especially when it comes to closing out a track. Upon first listening, I did not know if I needed to mosh and punch a wall or grab my pillow and cry.

While this might be the last thing the band puts out for the year, I am sure this single release has much in store for the beginning of 2025. Whether it be a music video to accompany the single, a tour, single show announcements, or even a full length release, I am sure fans are in for a very exciting 2025 with Set // Adrift.
