Milk, Cookies, and Metalcore with MattPlaylists

If you're anything like me, music plays a huge part in your day-to-day life. I've been traveling for work and have been spending a great deal of time in the car which means, you guessed it, tons of time trying to find my new favorite song or artist to add to the playlist. Thankfully I found some brand new songs from some of my favorites as well as a couple of new ones! Sit back and enjoy another rendition of "Milk and Cookies and Metalcore".

RVNT

First up to the batter's box is RVNT. Easily their most technical song they have released but still maintains that special something that makes this band so great! It's a good ol' fashioned metalcore track that makes you want to throw down in the pit in the best way possible. Plus that breakdown at the end of the track is just the icing on the cake. The only complaint that I have with RVNT is more so towards the fans because how this band isn't headlining tours year round is mind boggling. We need to fix that as soon as possible!

Great American Ghost

Regardless of the genre you want to throw Great American Ghost in, there is no doubting their musical talent. Every song they have released gearing up to the release of Tragedy of The Commons on January 31st has been consistently raising the bar of the genre. "Kerosene" is no different. The track brings that heaviness in every way, shape, and form. Fans only need to wait another 62 days for the album to drop (but who is counting, am I right?).

Maximus NJ

Maximus NJ is up next and I am so happy I found this band. I think I woke up to them following me on social media recently and I was immediately hooked! The band slaps. There is no other way to put it. From disgusting vocals to chunky riffs to bone-shaking drumming, Maximus NJ is sure to climb the metalcore ladder in no time. Still not convinced? Well, let us circle back to that comment I just made about vocals. While the gutturals are indeed nasty, the singing on their track "Jester" beautifully compliments the heaviness of the instrumentals. Do not sleep on this band.

Gun Devil

I've been a fan of Gun Devil for a while now, and if you're unfamiliar with this incredible band, you're missing out! The band has just released their new album, ...In an Attempt to Feel Again and it is full of back-to-back heavy bangers! One of my favorites from the album has to be "Marionette" because it leaves your jaw on the ground while leaving you wanting more. It feels so raw, so heavy, and so true to the genre that it should be held as the new standard of the genre.

Solace

Maybe the "weirdest" one for the playlist today comes from Solace. The band released their debut EP, Echoes of the Lost, back in May of this year and it was a phenomenal prog-djent-metal EP from start-to-finish. This new release, "Only Human" is the "weird" one of the list because I wouldn't exactly call it metalcore, but I'll be damned if it doesn't bring the heavy. The track itself feels like it belongs as a boss battle music in your favorite video game as it balances between a calm ambient sound and a groovy mosh-pit inducer. If this is any indication of a new album or EP release, I can already tell that fans are in for some treats.
