Water Culture, the emo post-hardcore band from North Carolina, are gearing up to release their newest single on November 19th. The band formed back in 2021 and has been taking fans on an emotional and dynamic journey ever since. "Sad Joints" should give fans that emotional, raw, and intense feeling that is becoming a "Water Culture norm". Major props to a band that can have a distinguished sound that allows for fans to resonate with while maintaining an identity all their own. Not only should fans be excited for this new single release, but the band is also planning to release a new album, Hanging by a Thread, on the 19th as well. Talk about a "Christmas-in-November" scenario.

The band has a sound that reminds me of Dallas locals Set // Adrift, as well as Being As An Ocean, and it is just the most amazing sound ever. This single takes me back to over ten years ago when I first started discovering this genre of music. Let me tell you, it is a euphoric feeling. Not only that, but the song itself takes your on an emotional rollercoaster with lyrics like "If I'm high, why do I feel low / I wonder how deep this goes". Upon first listen, I found myself sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see what is going to come next in this story set to music. This is easily that type of song that you can go back and listen to over and over again while each listen brings up a new repressed emotion that you didn't even know you wanted to forget.

When speaking about the single, vocalist Ryan Mitchell had this to say:

"Sad Joints" is a song about the moment of realization that things could and should be better in your relationship, and that extending to your life overall. It’s a painful tone that translates to the songs feel.

Still not convinced? Well, you better go and catch Water Culture live as soon as possible. It is only a matter of time before they are headlining venues across the United States and your only chance is maybe hearing the echoes from the parking lot because you didn't act fast enough. Don't let me say "I told you so".
