Soulfly brought an intense, visceral live experience that tore through Trees in Deep Ellum, leaving the audience exhilarated. On October 22nd, the band, led by metal legend Max Cavalera, delivered a relentless set packed with primal grooves, heavy riffs, and unyielding intensity. From the moment they hit the stage, Soulfly held the audience in a tight grip, keeping the energy high and the heads banging.

Opening with classics like "Back To The Primitive" and "No Hope = No Fear," Soulfly’s setlist was a powerful blend of their older, tribal-infused tracks and newer, heavier material. Cavalera’s voice—raw and powerful—permeated through the mix like a battle cry, engaging every fan in the room, he commanded the stage with the energy and presence of someone who genuinely loves performing and feeding off the energy of his audience. The crowd responded with flying elbows, fists, and the occasional drink.

Soulfly’s rhythm section was equally impressive. Drummer Zyon Cavalera (Max's son) was an absolute unit behind the kit, hammering out intense beats that anchored the band’s sound. The band’s tribal influences came through in this track, seamlessly blending with the unrelenting metal sound to create a ritualistic and rebellious atmosphere.

Soulfly’s show was a cathartic blend of aggression and unity that brought fans together under the shared love of thrash metal. By the time they closed the set with “Jumpdafuckup” and "Eye For An Eye," the crowd was exhausted yet chanting for more. Cavalera’s charisma and the band’s tight yet aggressive performance reminded everyone of the unbreakable bond between Soulfly and their fans. For those who love their metal fierce and unfiltered, a Soulfly show is a must-attend event.
