Still riding the high of the May 10th release of their self-titled EP, alternative rock/pop punk trio StrateJacket has excitedly announced their upcoming debut album, Bad Start, which will be out October 11th via EDGEOUT Records. And, to celebrate, they’ve shared a brand-new single entitled “End of Time,” a spirited and compelling track reminiscent of an old-school punk anthem.
With Jackson Roemers on lead vocals and guitar, Fabian Angel on vocals and bass, and Nate Mangold on drums, StrateJacket initially curated “End of Time” to show off individual solos for each member. Sharing some insight behind that decision, the band said, “The fun part about being a new band making an album is that you get to come in with a wide-eyed view and so many ideas. As a big fan of The Who, I really wanted a ‘My Generation’ structure for a song. We had these stop-and-go verses and a dueling banjos solo section for the bridge.”

StrateJacket keeps the intensity on max for the entirety of "End of Time." Though just a little short of the three-minute mark, the raw energy is palpable every second. Fueled by animated drumming, blaring guitars, and intricate basslines, "End of Time" is a vigorous, in-your-face fight song guaranteed to get the crowds pumped up when played live. Melodic crooning on the chorus gives the track a touch of infectious pop flare, while a repeated chant of "Hey! Hey! Hey!" throughout the verses keeps "End of Time" glued to that classic punk vibe.
Two of StrateJacket's previous singles will be joining "End of Time" on the tracklist for their upcoming album- jaded, high-energy title track "Bad Start" and the vibrant yet dulcet "Be My Drug." With three back-to-back bangers preceding its release, StrateJacket's debut album Bad Start is sure to be a massive hit. But until its October 11th release, listeners will just have to keep rocking out to "Bad Start," "Be My Drug," and now "End of Time" on repeat to take the edge off the wait.
