When I met my ex-husband in 2005, he wasn't impressed with my music taste, which was mostly pop-punk at the time. He ended up making me a mix CD of hard rock bands to educate me on what I was missing. On that mix was "Ugly", my introduction to one of the bands that ruled the early 2000s music scene, The Exies.
The Exies, short for "The Existentialists", were formed in 1997 in Los Angeles, CA. They have released four studio albums since and were hugely influential in the early days of nu-metal and post-grunge. On June 28th, they released their first EP in seventeen years, titled Closure.
I recently had the honor of chatting with Scott Stevens, lead vocalist, who shared his top ten favorite lyrics that he's written. Without further ado, I present our latest Top Ten with MSM...
