On October 10, 2024, our Chief Interviewer, Andrew Kjelson, had the pleasure of chatting with Matt McAndrew of Rain City Drive before their show at Hangar 1819 in Greensboro, NC. The pair discussed the recent release of their incredible new LP, Things Are Different Now, the band's rise to fame, mental health, and much more.
For those who are unfamiliar with Rain City Drive, they are a post-hardcore/alt rock band hailing from Palm Coast, FL. The band is known for their chart-topping tracks such as "Medicate Me (feat. Rory Rodriguez of Dayseeker)," "Blood Runs Cold," and "Cutting It Close," with the latter reaching the #5 spot on Sirius XM Octane's Big Uns list. While the band was originally formed under the name Slaves, the group decided to rename themselves to Rain City Drive in 2020 after frontman, Matt McAndrew (runner-up on The Voice season 7), joined the band.
Rain City Drive is:
· Matt McAndrew (Lead Vocals)
· Weston Richmond (Lead Guitarist)
· Felipe Sanchez (Rhythm Guitar/Backing Vocals)
· Colin Vieira (Bass)
· Zachary Baker (Drums)
Rain City Drive's third studio LP, Things Are Different Now, is available now via Thriller Records.
