On a not so autumn-esque night on the 8th of November, Tigers Claw ascended on Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro, N.C in what was the latest stop of their 2022 tour. The unseasonably warm temperatures outside were a harbinger of the heat inside the venue, as Tigers Jaw and friends rocked out with a masterful mix of alternative, emo and pop punk music.
The opener, Glitterer, a new project led by former Title Fight co-front man, Ned Russin… Having just released a new EP, “Fantastic Four,” at the end of September, the group graced the stage with their sludgy, grungy alternative style to energize the crowd at the Cat’s Cradle. While the crowd was still growing, their performance did nothing but raise expectations and anticipation for the remainder of the evening.
The punk rockers, Heart Attack Man had no issue lighting a fire under the crowd. Having released their own EP, Thoughtz & Prayerz, in November of 2021, they were fresh off of a headlining tour of their own. Bringing their high energy, musical assault to the cradle, they sent the crowd into full motion. Circle pits opened up for a few songs and the crowd gave the band plenty of energy to feed on.
With the crowd, fully energized and engaged Tigers Jaw, took the stage and brought the punk pop barrage to the people. Embracing the F it attitude of punk, the band played through some slight technical difficulties at the beginning of their set. Once the issues were resolved, the band sounded great. They played songs from across their catalog, including their most recent release, “I Won’t Care How You Remember Me.” They engaged the crowd with a constant positive musical energy resulting in a large, high energy crowd that matched the bands energy and intensity throughout the night.
